There's more than one way to play a video game, and you don't hold a monopoly on that. The kind of people that are like "There is ONLY one right way to play a game and that's the way that gives me the most advantage possible!" You do realize someone could pick one or two weapons and just play the game with ONLY those two right? You realize someone could pick a weapon that many consider not the best pick for certain things or at all and just play the game with that weapon to see if they can beat it right? They've already clearly made decisions to overhaul entire systems of the original Dead Space for no real reason, the least they could do is make the inventory / weapon management more bearable. but just because we didn't know better back then, doesn't mean we shouldn't improve decades later when we do. Some people will enjoy the 1996 Resident Evil way of playing games. It's one thing to need to manage your ammo usage as a whole, it's another to have to do that for multiple different weapons with all sorts of balancing issues that were never fixed. Juggling 4 weapons with various degrees of upgradability and cannibalizing ammo drops from each other was insanity as a design decision. there's a reason people warned new players away from using more than 1-2 weapons an entire playthrough. The resource system in DS1 was atrocious.
needing 2 reloads per enemy and only getting 1 canister every chapter. Yeah, nothing like getting 6 plasma cutter rounds and only needing 3 to kill an enemy, while getting 2 line gun rounds and needing 2-3 to do the same thing. and many of us that enjoy survival horror appreciate that mechanic and keeping your resources in check so you don't over use or run out. Meant less crate breaking looking for specific ammo. I liked that design choice for the 3rd game.
